Fegger's new forum topic

Hope everyone had a blessed Christmas. I did. Wanted to tell you that Fegger started this great new thread called "Real Time Library" under Forums on Triond. It's a great way to introduce yourself and to post links to your articles. I'm anxious to see if this takes off, I think it will.

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!

Four days until I'm off for Christmas...woohoo!! Despite the grief I've experienced recently, I am really ready for Christmas this year. I'm really trying to be mindful to make it a wonderful time with friends and family and strengthening my faith. I have put up fresh holly on the mantle and a pine cone basket as a center piece. I'm burning my favorite candles. I'm finding ways to connect with others. It feels really great.

My brother

Trying to take life one day at a time. My brother's surgery is scheduled for January 13th. He was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer a few months ago. It had matastasized throughout his body. Now, the surgery is to remove a very large tumor cutting off his circulation, replace all veins and arteries in his legs and abdomen, remove a kidney, and part of his bowel. We're not sure if he's going to make it through the surgery. Life is really hard sometimes, even for a therapist. We're human too. For now, I'm enjoying our time, our holiday together and the spiritual connection that we are starting to build.

Enjoying so much meeting "Modern Day Shakespeares" like Fegger and Tarantula on Triond. There are so many common folks out there who are simply brilliant. Truly inspiring.

Arrived at work this morning to a beautifully wrapped package from my partner, the psychiatrist. He's from Russia. It makes me feel so good that we are fighting this difficult job we call mental health together. There are so many financial pressures and restrictions placed on us by insurance companies, it's ridiculous!

All my friends at Triond have helped me to renew my Christmas spirit today in their comments on my article entitled "Pay It Forward This Christmas." Great things everyone is doing for their fellow man. FreeThinker published this great article about how we all are carrying out the spirit of Santa Claus in what we say and do for others. Had another published today "Triond Writers: I Love My Big, Dysfunctional Family." We all had a good laugh out of that. People are people but think about how rich life is that we can share and support one another through this crazy maze called life.

Seasonal Depression

I wrote a piece on Suite 101.com that helped prepare me for the holidays. However, several of my clients have come in this week, very depressed. They're experiencing tremendous grief, financial woes, etc. I've felt for them. I've worked hard at keeping my spirits up in addition to brain-storming with them creative ways to enjoy the holiday season. It's a lot of fun to share and learn from one another.
